About me

IMG_1659

I worked for many years in the care industry,

First as an Independence Tutor & then a Deputy Registered Manager after gaining my NVQ 2 & 3 in Health & Social Care,

Helping young individuals with special needs & learning difficulties to gain skills necessary for them to live as independently as possible.

It was great learning from & with the people I supported,

Enjoying the fact I was helping someone not just today, but hopefully long into their future.

Following the birth of my son in 2011 I felt that I needed a different challenge but one that would still make a positive difference.

This brings me to where I am today.

After successfully acquiring my City & Guilds International Certificate to work as a Professional Massage Therapist through Grimsby Institute.

After seeing the effect that Lymphoedema and Cancer can have,

I felt I needed to help so enrolling with the German Földi collage of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Complete Decongestive Therapy, the training consisting of 190 teaching units, both theoretical and practical.

At the end of the training, there was an oral, written and practical exam.

I am now qualified to treat Client with Primary & Secondary Lymphoedema,

using the four cornerstones of Lymphoedema Management,

Manual Lymphatic Drainage,

Compression using bandaging & garments,

Exercise & Skin Care Advice.

I recently attended the Jennifer Young Oncology Massage course & can now safely treat individuals living with & beyond cancer,

Even during treatment.

I am fully insured for all my Treatments and a member of MLDUK & the British Lymphology Society (BLS).
